TSCSE provided a custom fall protection system for the inspiring central feature of the design of the Naval West building, an aviary, that functions as a sanctuary for the protection of macaw parrots, a hobby and passion of the client’s.
The vertical aviary rises from the ground floor entry plaza and pierces through the roof of the building, visually pinning the structure to the earth. The aviary includes a pedestrian bridge that allows access to a feeding platform for caretakers to inhabit and interact with the parrots.
The architectural design, including the aviary and low-e glass facades, are all influenced by the client’s aviation background & skills.
