  • Machine Guarding Assessment looking at:
    • Potential mechanical hazards evaluation
      • Point of operation
      • Parts of machine that move such as flywheels, pulleys, belts, couplings, chains, cranks, gears, feed mechanisms and auxiliary parts
    • In-running nip points
    • Machine safeguarding devices currently in use
    • Current work practices including housekeeping, maintenance and inspection
    • Related safety programs
    • Review of Incident and near miss reports that pertain to machine guarding
    • Employee training and understanding of machine guarding
    • Any Agency correspondence or violations received.

GBTS conducted a machine guarding assessment to verify compliance with 29 CFR 1910 Subpart O – Machinery and Machine Guarding and ANSI B11.19-2019 – Performance Requirements for Risk Reduction Measures: Safe Guarding and other Means of Reducing Risk. GBTS provided a written detailed report of the findings and recommendations, as needed, for improvement was provided following the visit.
